So as many of you know I have been an enthusiast of organization and task management for sometime. I have developed and experimented many different techniques for ensuring that tasks you have for yourself or the tasks that you are managing or assigning to others get handled in a timely and non-forgetful manner.
I have worked with checklists, online tools, mobile apps, this and that, and have found that the quickest way to have everything at your fingertips, in a way that is custom to you, is by having a simple powerpoint template that you upkeep daily. I guess I call it a 360-degree Promise Management Dashboard.
You can see a screenshot of the template below.
Here is how I use it:
- Every Monday I update the template to include all things I need to keep track off and manage. Either things I need to do or my team needs to do.
- I then print this document and have it with me everywhere I go. If you don't want to print it, just have a copy readily accessible on your desktop.
- Once a task is completed, you simply remove it from the list and add to it any other tasks that get assigned to you or others. If you want you can create another document or second page where you keep track of all done items with a date of completion. That way you can have a running record of things you accomplished that week, month, quarter, or year.
If you have any suggestions on ways to improve or you yourself have come up with a nice concept, please feel free to share with all of us :-)
Regards,
Leon
